Embedded Software Test Automation Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Embedded Software Test Automation Engineer to join an innovative technology company developing next-generation embedded electronic and IoT products.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary R&D team, you'll play a key role in designing, developing and maintaining automated test solutions that ensure products meet the highest standards of quality, reliability and performance before release.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong LabVIEW and embedded electronics experience who enjoys working on both hardware and software in a fast-paced product development environment.

The Role

As an Embedded Software Test Automation Engineer, you will work closely with hardware, firmware and software engineers to develop robust automated test systems used throughout the product development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automated test systems using NI LabVIEW
• Develop test plans, test cases and verification strategies for new products
• Perform automated verification and validation testing on embedded electronic devices
• Integrate and control laboratory test equipment including oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies and DAQ hardware
• Investigate, troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis on product and test failures
• Support hardware and firmware teams during product development and validation
• Maintain high standards of documentation and test reporting
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of automated testing processes and tools
• Work within a collaborative multidisciplinary engineering environment

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years' experience developing automated test solutions
• Strong experience with NI LabVIEW
• Experience testing embedded hardware or electronic products
• Good understanding of embedded systems and electronics
• Experience with measurement instrumentation and laboratory equipment
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Desirable Experience

• Certified LabVIEW Developer (CLD)
• TestStand
• Python
• Selenium or other automation tools
• Jira
• Git, GitHub, Bitbucket or SourceTree
• Electronic Engineering or related degree
